How do we remap your vehicle? We start buy copying the data form your ECU or engine control unit. We copy the individual map that's in your car plus any software, hardware, upgrade coding plus your VIN number. Then we save that data by your registration and chassis number.
We then send it away to Dimsport who produce what's called a setting file. A setting file is the adjustable parameter's set by Dimsport that they get from rolling road tests. It's to insure you don't blow your engine up. All figures are set within manufactures specification. We then transfer the data we saved from your car to the setting file.
The file is then sent to our tuning house who do all the fine and bespoke adjustments suited to your driving style or requirement's what ever they are. More power for towing better fuel economy what ever you require. Once the file has been finished it is sent back to the machine that copied the data originally and then uploaded on to your car.
This takes between 1 hour and 3 depending on work load and complexity of the map.
Why do we do it this way? By copying your data it means at any time we can set your car back to original. The other reason is by copying the coding stops other control units throwing up any faults because they don't recognise the VIN number or software codes. Each map is bespoke to the customer for better quality of service. You don't get a generic map or a dodgy copy of another car.
